here at nang towers we are really happy to have back slovenian talent sare havlicek, without any doubt one of our favourite producers, and to present you all his latest creation *movies for lovers*. sometimes we like to try something a bit different. often the process of creating an album can be a not-so-simple task: which tracks are the singles? which is the breather track? do we have ten songs? have we covered all the bases? the list goes on. sometimes the answer is to throw convention out the window and just try to harness a burst of energy and get it down on eighteen minutes-a-side of vinyl. we gave sare the following brief: lock yourself in a studio for four weeks and come up with a piece of cohesive work. abandon the formulas, do some experimenting and (most importantly) try some things you wouldnt normally do. *movies for lovers* is the result of that session and encapsulates the feeling of the journey sare embarked on to bring you this album.

cristian vogel is a long-term innovator in the composition, mixing and performance of electronic music. spanning over two decades at the vanguard of european electronic music, his work has been acknowledged as an outstanding influence in the fields of composition for stage, club culture and studio. this is the first vinyl release of material from the archive remasters project. the project was successfully crowd-funded in december 2014 which enabled the establishment of edition cristian vogel, an edition handling the restoration and remastering of a large part of cristian vogels hard-to-find and unreleased productions dating back to the early 90s. the 1994 ep features a beefed-up remastering of the classic time originally released on his 1995 album absolute time on tresor. you will also find a rare proto-minimal track from the vinyl only artist in charge of expert systems ep originally released on mosquito records. scorpio and alien conversation are taken from his debut album originally released on mille plateaux in 1994. all tracks were remastered and cut from original dat tapes in february 2015 by manmademastering

lapalux neues album klingt beinahe zwanghaft inspiriert, sorgfältig und handgemacht und hebt sich damit deutlich von seinem vorgänger ab. lustmore basiert auf dem erlebnis eines vorübergehenden halb-traum halb-wach zustandes, den stuart howard mit seinen infektiösen rhythmen, einwickelnden texten sowie ungewöhnlichen melodien gekonnt inszeniert. die soundpalette für lustmore wurde akribisch ausgewählt und klingt so retro futuristisch, als wolle sie mit bladerunner oder 2001: a space odyssey mithalten. howard meint: whenever i think about the album i think about the bar scene in the shining. theres something about that strange, hallucinatory psychological madness that relates to the music, both in the making of the actual record and the way it sounds.

philippe laurent, a renowned french electro/synth wave pioneer & modern classical music composer who released a numerous amount of tapes during the 80s and a lp vinyl album on the label minimal wave records in 2011. this release joint consist in two tracks by philippe laurent from 1982 unreleased on vinyl yet and exclusively restored from the original tapes by minimal wave records studios in new york in 2014 and a cover by xeno & oaklander a cold wave and synth pop band from the same city.
